Thirty centuries of rain cannot erase the knife-cut angles of Grilaghi son of Scilagri, yet the scars remain blurred on stone now trapped in a university corridor. The name hovers between two scholarly readings, neither certain, while the boy lives only through the chisel marks preserved from a forgotten Cork landscape. What rages inside that vessel? Love, vengeance, grief or pride? The angle holds its tongue, waiting for a listener brave enough to accept uncertainty.

One of 15 ogham stones found in a Man-made underground passage (CO055-007003-) in a ringfort (CO055-007001-) at Ballyknock North, Co Cork (see CO055-007007-) and currently on permanent display in the Stone Corridor, University College Cork. The inscription is on the dexter angle and top of the stone in "knife-cut" scores and in poor condition. It was read by Macalister (1945, 86, no. 85) as GRILAGNI MAQI SCILAGNI and by McManus (2004, 16-7, no. 9.) as grILAGNI MAQi SCILAGNi.
