What is recorded here

Cloonygowan holds a standing stone, but no human name or date has emerged to give it life. The stone waits in County Mayo, enduring rain and forgetting while people come and go. It may have marked a boundary, a burial, a meeting place or a warning, yet that purpose has slipped from memory. What remains is a vertical shadow in the landscape, patient and unreadable.
