Indicated

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort in County Mayo, an earthen ring where human history thins into legend. The soil may have held a small home, a boundary marker or a warning before it became a place people avoided at dusk. That shift from living space to forbidden ground is common in western Ireland, where ordinary buildings disappear into story. The fort still stands because nobody has explained it away.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
