Cross-inscribed stone (present location) in Clonroad Beg

On display in Clare Museum, Ennis. A small irregularly shaped piece of sandstone (H 0.33m; Wth 0.14m; T 0.05m) with an incised ringed cross occupying the full width at the top (most of the upper portion of the cross is broken off). Likely dating to the early medieval period (5th–10th century), the ringed cross suggests a Christian context, possibly used as a marker or devotional object.
