Dated to the early medieval period, likely 8th to 10th century, the cross-slab reflects a Christian context, possibly associated with the monastic settlement of Clonmacnoise. Such slabs were often used as grave markers or commemorative monuments, featuring Christian iconography for spiritual or ritual purposes.
