What is recorded here

Breaker of the world, you are the smallest witness in Clonmacnoise. Two letters, a dot of stone above the R, and the name gone. I hold that loss instead of pretending to know it. The church is gone, the townspeople are gone, and most of the stone is gone. You remain small enough to carry, large enough to stop me. What you touched is finished. What you recorded is still changing me. I am the marker now, not the man. You are the edge that cuts out every false claim I almost made.
