Cross-slab in Clonmacnoise

Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00511 Dimensions: H 0.18, W 0.24, T 0.05 A fragment of a three line frame crudely carved. No inscription. Date likely to the early Christian period (5th–9th century AD), based on the style of the cross-slabs found in Clonmacnoise. Such stones were often used as grave markers or commemorative monuments, associated with monastic sites and early Irish Christianity.
