Cross-slab in Clonmacnoise

Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00247 Dimensions: H 0.28, W 0.23, T 0.055 Outline ring cross inside a single line rectilinear frame. No inscription. Date likely to the early medieval period, given the ring-and-cross motif typical of Christian insular art (6th–10th centuries). Such crosses were often used as grave markers or commemorative monuments in monastic or ecclesiastical contexts.
