Cross-slab in Clonmacnoise

Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00238 Dimensions: H 0.205, W 0.165, T 0.08 An outline ring cross with hollow angles and looped arm ends. No inscription. Date likely to the early Christian period, c. 7th–10th century AD, based on the style of the ring cross. Such crosses were often associated with monastic sites like Clonmacnoise and may have had a funerary or commemorative function.
