Cross-slab in Clonmacnoise

Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00201 Dimensions: H 0.534, W 0.524, T 0.07 Double outline ring cross with hollow angles. Inscription: 'OR DO CELLACH' 'OR' is above the left cross arm, 'DO' below, 'CELLACH' across the stem. Evidence of discovery: Petrie 1822. Condition: Top and bottom of slab broken away. Probably dates to the early medieval period (7th–10th century). The inscription and cross suggest a Christian funerary or commemorative function, likely associated with the monastic site of Clonmacnoise.
