What is recorded here
An outline ring cross with hollow angles stands in Clonmacnoise, bearing the damaged name OR [AR] HUDRINE above its upper arm. The line of the cross was made up forcefully by punch marks, perhaps completed after damage rather than carved whole. That stubborn restoration turns a broken memorial into a witness, preserving the identity of the dead and the effort of the living who refused to let the stone disappear.
