Cross-slab in Clonmacnoise

Clonmacnoise grave-slab inventory (1992) number: CLN00187 Dimensions: H 0.75, W 0.674, T 0.073 Outline ring cross with hollow angles. The arms all end in loops. Inscription: 'OR DO THUATHAL' inscribed in two lines, one above the ring and one below. Evidence of discovery: Graves 1854 Condition: Complete. Probably dates to the early medieval period (7th–10th century). The inscription "OR DO THUATHAL" is a dedication to the saint Thuathal, indicating a Christian funerary or commemorative function.
