Not indicted stands in County Galway as a graveyard whose name still carries the edge of a legal judgment. The stones may have waited through centuries of rain and foottraffic, but the label preserves a moment when someone escaped formal condemnation. That absence of indictment is not nothing; it is a gap where fear, favour or simple forgetfulness may have entered. The dead remain beside that unanswered question, unchanged and patient.
