Kilbreedy is a small place where an old cist once lay buried beneath a working farm. Whether it belonged to a family, a traveller or a forgotten chief still cannot be known. What is clear is that people lived around it, farmed it and left it behind. The cist remains a quiet mark of that lost life.

The precise location of a cist burial within the townland of Kilbreedy has not been identified. Not depicted on OSi historic maps. The Topographical Files of the National Museum of Ireland recorded that a cist burial(NMI Reg. No. 0539) was uncovered on a farm in Kilbreedy townland.
