Why this matters

Linked to St. Einne (or Eibhlin), an early Irish saint associated with healing and local monastic tradition; the site reflects a fusion of Christian devotion and prehistoric monument veneration, common in early medieval Ireland. The cross and plaques suggest continued reverence into the 19th century, possibly as a place of pilgrimage or prayer.
