An oval depression (4.4m x 3.3m; D 0.3m) adjacent to a stream was excavated in 2003. Excavation revealed a steep-sided pit (D 0.55m) containing a waterlogged peaty fill with preserved branches and twigs overlying a compact layer of charcoal. The charcoal was radiocarbon dated to 585±20 BP (GrN-28305) suggesting a later medieval context for what may be a charcoal kiln or a large roasting pit. (O'Brien 2006, 39-40, site G)
