In limestone outcrop. Investigated by Ussher (1880, 512-14) who found whetstones, hammer stones, flint flakes, two iron knives, iron chisel andnail, slag, fragment of jet, one shard of wheel made pottery and domestic animal bones. No plans or sections published. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994).
