What is recorded here
Marked as a large circular or polygonal feature (diam. c. 100m) with a house called Rockfield at its centre on the 1837 ed. of the OS 6-inch map, and as a large enclosure (diam. c. 100m N-S; c. 100m E-W) on the 1928 ed. Situated on a low broad E-W ridge. No feature is visible at ground level in pasture, and it clearly was a drystone-built enclosure associated with the house which was built on rock outcrop.
