Castle is a ruined tower house in Townparks, Galway, where stone walls still stand though roofs and rooms have gone. It may have guarded a busy coastal area or belonged to a local family, but the facts do not say which. What remains is a sharp-edged shadow in the townparks, the kind of place where children imagined dungeons and adults walked past without thinking.
