Castle — Kilfinnan

Castle — tower house

Why this matters

The tower house at Kilfinnan was likely built in the 16th or 17th century by a local Gaelic family, possibly the MacDonnells, who controlled the area during the early modern period. It is remembered for its strategic coastal position and as a surviving example of early defensive architecture in the region.
