What is recorded here

Indicated is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Carrownamaddy (roscommon By.), County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies an oval grass-covered area measuring 51m east-west and 28.6m north-south just off the crest of a low ridge. A slight overgrown earthen bank and outer fosse define the boundary, but no original entrance remains identifiable.
Just off the crest of a low E-W ridge on the S-facing slope. Oval grass-covered area (dims 51m E-W; 28.6m N-S) defined by a slight but overgrown earthen bank (Wth 3-5m; int. H 0.2-0.6m; ext. H 0.4m at W to 1.3m at E), and an outer fosse (Wth of top 3.8-5.2m; Wth of base 2.5m; D 1.4m) NNW-SE. There is no identifiable original entrance.
