What is recorded here

Uainmore is a closed stone passage beneath a Galway ringfort, remembered only because a landowner pointed to its buried entrance and said it ran northeast. The name appeared on maps before the hole disappeared, suggesting people once walked that dark diagonal line under the fort. It may have been a hidden escape route, a water channel or a forgotten chamber, but the earth now holds that answer.

In S half of a ringfort (GA041-018----). Named 'Uainmore' on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1915-16). According to the landowner, it was closed up many years ago. He indicated the former point of access, stated that it was constructed of stone, and that it led off to NE from this point.
