What is recorded here
Single-span cast-iron pedestrian bridge over railway line, erected 1862, comprising cast-iron lattice walkway supported on circular-profile cast-iron columns with banded pedestals, with flights of steps having circular-profile newel posts with acorn finials to each side of platform.
This pedestrian bridge displays a high degree of craftsmanship, adds artistic interest to its site and offers a counterpoint to the red brick structure of the railway station. It forms a group with related station and outbuilding.
