Remains of mill on tributary of River Lee; low walls of rectangular structure (int.: 5.5m E-W; 4.4m N-S) built into S-facing slope; door ope in S wall. Narrow wheel-pit (Wth 1.29m) along E wall; probably housed a high breastshot/overshot waterwheel. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 14 January 2009
