This blue commemorative plaque records: Charles Kershaw 1819-1903 Slead Syke Nurseries were first established on this site by Charles Kershaw in 1864, which later became Kershaw's Garden Centre. he also transformed the gardens of the Rydings into a public park - the first one in Brighouse.
