What is recorded here

Thirty-two metres from a forgotten hut, a low circle of mixed stones still breaks through the cutaway bog above the Dromoghty valley. It is small enough to walk around in a minute, yet large enough to have required deliberate gathering, arrangement and memory. People may have placed it beside a home, marked a dead person, or simply answered the slope with a shape they could return to. The kerbing at its base suggests more than casual dumping: even in rough Kerry pasture, someone made a boundary the land could not easily erase.

In rough hill pasture and cutaway bog, on a SE-facing slope, overlooking the valley of the Dromoghty River. A circular cairn (diam. 3m; H 0.6m), comprising stones of various sizes and shapes, protrudes above the surface of the bog. Traces of stone kerbing are evident around the base of the cairn. A hut site (KE101-089003-) is 32m to the NE. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
