What is recorded here

Carnfin rises in Cahery as a prehistoric burial mound, possibly a megalithic tomb where dead people waited for rain, memory, or forgetting. The name suggests Finn, but the stones give no answer about which Finn or when he lived. People may have walked past it for centuries, dropping food, tying ribbons, or staying silent because the mound watched back.

The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BURIAL MOUND, possibly MEGALITHIC TOMB: CARNFIN or CAIRN-A-FINN. Recorded period: PREHISTORIC. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
