Fairy fort in Caherbirrane, County Cork: a 25-metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope above a sharp fall to a stream, with a 3.6-metre entrance to the south. People may have lived there, herded there, or kept something back from the water below. The bank still stands partly topped with stone, as if the ground remembered being shaped and never fully let go.

In pasture, on gentle E-facing slope, above sharp fall to stream. Circular area (25m NE-SW) defined by scarp NNE->ESE; earthen bank (H 1.4m) ESE->W; levelled bank survives as undulation W->N. Bank topped by stone wall S->W; entrance (Wth 3.6m) to S. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
