What is recorded here

Situated at the base of a W-facing slope of a ridge which borders a tract of flat, wet pasture. The mound is evident as a slight semi-circular rise (c. 12m N-S; c. 9m E-W) in ground level bordering the W side of a N-S field drain (Wth. 1.6m; D 1m). A layer (L 11.4m; D 0.6-0.8m) of burnt stone and charcoal is exposed in section in both faces of the drain. In the E section it is clear that the mound material is accumulated against the slope of the ridge. There is a possible burnt mound (SL019-228----) c. 100m to SE.
