In wet pasture, located 5m to E of a stream which flows N along the W side of a flat-bottomed valley. One of several fulachtaí fia and burnt mounds which occur over a distance of 1.5km along the base of the valley. When first recorded this appeared as a low, roughly circular mound (diam. c. 8m; H 0.8m) of shattered stone and black soil, most clearly defined on the W side, and underlying a covering of sod and rushes (OPW field notes, 1994). As a consequence of land reclamation works in 1995 the mound was largely obscured by deposits of soil. There is a burnt mound (SL019-246----) c. 6m to N.
