Burial mound in Ceathrú An Lisín

Burial mound

What is recorded here

No visible mound remains at Ceathrú An Lisín, only a buried marker and a absent shape that challenge the claim that everything notable still stands where it dropped. The region is scattered with hollows, broken rings and fields that swallow their own history, so the missing mound fits the character of the ground rather than exposing a failure to remember it. What is lost is not the same as never having existed.
The Archaeological Survey of Ireland (ASI) is in the process of providing information on all monuments on The Historic Environment Viewer (HEV).
