What is recorded here
Magheradunbar holds a scheduled burial ground where human remains waited for patience rather than haste. The stone boundary still marks a place set apart from ordinary traffic, suggesting people valued continuity more than display. Whatever names vanished, the act of returning bodies to one chosen ground repeated love until it became geography.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as BURIAL GROUND/ ENCLOSURE. Recorded period: E.CHRIST.. Recorded protection: Scheduled. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
