Location: Outside N wall of St Kevin's Church (WI023-009----) (29 August 2005). Described by Healy as a stone measuring '0.5m x 0.5m, sunk in ground with 1 basin, diam. 0.26m x 0.25m x depth 0.16m. The basin is cylindrical with sides 0.14m high, and a concave bottom' (Healy 1972, 111). Date of upload: 21 November 2012
Likely dating to the early Christian period, the bullaun stone may have been used for ritual purposes, such as the preparation of holy water or as a baptismal font. Such stones are often associated with church sites and local Christian traditions.
