This blue commemorative plaque records: The Samaritan Woman statue now stands beside Lowewood Museum. Its original site was in the High Street just north of Conduit Lane. It was erected by Marmaduke Rawdon in c. 1631 to deliver water, via a conduit, from his Rawdon House supply, giving Hoddesdon its first public water supply.
