Situated on rock outcrop within the village of Carrigallen. The remains of the medieval parish church is in the SW corner of the large graveyard (dims c. 90m NNW-SSE; c. 55m NE-SW) defined by masonry walls attached to the present Church of Ireland church, but any burials that might be associated with the medieval remains are probably in its immediate vicinity. Archaeological testing (05E0828) just across the road from the entrance to the graveyard produced no related material (Henry 2008).
