Why this person mattered

The Ilkley Playhouse, originally built as a Working Men's Club and Lecture Hall in 1876, reflects the Victorian era's emphasis on education and community for working-class men; it later became a significant cultural venue for theatre in Ilkley.

A plaque record does not grant entry to a building or private land. View it from a public place unless permission is clearly given.
