Alexander Parkes invented the first plastic, known as Parkesine, and worked at Elkington, Mason & Company, where he contributed to advancements in electroplating technology. George Richards Elkington and Sir Josiah Mason were prominent industrialists who founded Elkington, Mason & Company, a leading firm in electroplating innovations during the Victorian era.
