What is recorded here

Caher is a circular rath thirty-six metres across in level Galway grassland, its bank and fosse still drawing an unbroken line though quarrying has bitten the southern edge. People may have lived inside that ring before becoming a fairy fort in local memory, shifting from human shelter to something owned by darkness. The grass still holds the shape of their choices even when the names have slipped away.

In level grassland. A circular rath (D 36m) defined by a well-preserved bank and external fosse from S to SW and at NE. Quarrying has occurred just outside the monument at S.
