What is recorded here

Mullindress, Ballycarry and Ballynoe still carry the shape of a 1642 battle, though the men who bled there have long since returned to soil. The ground may have trembled under hooves, shaken by drums, or marked with weapons thrown in fury. What is certain is that violence broke the ordinary rhythm of those townlands, and memory preserved the disaster rather than the names of the dead.
