What is recorded here
On a low ridge, in generally low-lying rough grazing. A circular area (diam. 16m) enclosed by an earthen bank (Wth 1.5m; int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.2m), eroded in places. Boggy ground immediately outside the bank along the W arc may indicate a silted-up fosse. There is a road immediately to S and E and a rath (SL027-045----) c. 100m to NNW.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Sligo' compiled by Ursula Egan, Elizabeth Byrne, Mary Sleeman with Sheila Ronan and Connie Murphy (Dublin Stationery Office, 2005).
