Likely dating to the Early Christian or earlier prehistoric period, bullaun stones were traditionally used for ritual or practical purposes such as grinding herbs or sacred objects. Local folklore sometimes associates them with holy wells or saintly activity, though specific meaning or use at Ballynestragh is not recorded.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
