What is recorded here
Grave Yd. is a graveyard in County Kerry, Ireland. The place holds dead bodies and marks the boundary between living memory and forgotten soil. Rain may erase the shapes of crossed stones or wooden posts, but the ground keeps its promise. People who stopped beside it likely listened for answers the dead would not speak.
For descriptive account see O'Sullivan and Sheehan (1996, 351, no. 1086).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry. Volume I: South-West Kerry' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
