Ballynaglea is an underground passage in the west half of a ringfort in County Mayo, Ireland. The entrance has vanished under a slight depression and rough vegetation, but the hidden chamber may still hold the shape of human hands. People may have built it to store grain, hide during storms, or keep secrets from neighbouring fields. The earth has swallowed the doorway, yet the passage remains patient beneath the grass, waiting for someone to listen for its absence.
