Enclosure in Ballynagallagh — Report the wrong picture

Ballynagallagh in County Limerick holds National Monument No. 247, a ghostly circular enclosure hidden from modern mapping despite appearing on early Ordnance Survey sheets. That vanished line suggests human hands shaped the land before forgetting erased the evidence. The hollow may still breathe beneath grass, waiting for someone reckless enough to listen for its absent walls.

National monument No. 247. The SMR paper file suggests that a fort is indicated in this area on the 'OPW' first edition of the Ordnance Survey [OS] 6-inch map. However no circular enclosure or 'fort' is depicted in this area on any edition of the OS 6-inch maps. No other information in paper file to support the existence of an archaeological monument at this location.
