What is recorded here

Seventeenth-century house shown on Straffords Survey of 1637(NLI 16 I 17 (13) ) and has been tentatively located to 'Ballymona House', being the main house in the townland. Field inspection in 1995 established that there are no surface remains of any dwelling pre-1700 at this site. House remains unlocated within the townland. The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002).
