What is recorded here
Fairy forts are not forts at all but circular enclosures built by people, often with steep banks and narrow gaps that suggest residence rather than defense. In Ballyhobin, that human-made ring has disappeared from the pasture, levelled in the 1980s according to local information. The fairy name is a later story, not a fact about build date or purpose.
In gently undulating pasture. No visible surface trace of monument depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 30m) on OS 6-inch map. According to local information monument levelled in 1980s.
