What is recorded here

Two pits (c. 2m apart) containing dark coloured fill, exposed in recently used gravel pit face. Both are c. 0.8m below ground surface and cut into subsoil; semicircular in section and of similar dimensions (D c. 0.5m; max. Wth c. 0.8m). Pair of standing stones (CO108-023---) in field to NW, now 18m from edge of gravel pit. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
