Man-made underground passage in Ballyganner North

Within the W half of a cashel (CL009-102001-). Beginning close to the cashel wall at W, this Man-made underground passage comprises a passage (L c. 7.5m; Wth 1.1-1.4m), partly open and partly obscured by cracked and broken lintels, leading to a blackthorn-filled beehive chamber (min. diam. 2m) in the centre of the interior. The extant passage incorporates three distinct straight sections. The most westerly of these (L 1.5m) is oriented NNW-SSE. The passage then turns ESE (L 2m) and then NE (L 4m) where most cracked lintels are found, before passing under a large lintel and opening into the chamber.
