What is recorded here
The Civil survey (1654-6) describes a stone house at Ballygall (Simington 1945, 146). This had four chimneys and was occupied by a Mr. Dowling and Hugh Broxton in 1664 (Cary 1930-33, 421). This dwelling was probably on the site of 'Ballygall House' which is under housing. Not visible at ground level.
