Indicated is a stone ringfort on a narrow shelf of Slieve Elva, holding a flat oval space wide enough for a small household and a rectangular structure pressed against the south wall. It sits inside a vast multiperiod field system, with two other enclosures within a hundred metres, suggesting a settled landscape rather than a lonely marker. The bank is overgrown and the inner facing barely visible, but the shape remains clear on the shelf, overlooking the valley from west to east.

On a narrow shelf on the W-facing NW slopes of Slieve Elva, with commanding views WSW–NE. Indicated with a solid line on the 1842 and 1915 eds. of the OS 6-inch maps. Listed as ‘Enclosure’ in the SMR (1992) and the RMP (1996). Westropp (1901, 10) recorded it along with the other cashels in the vicinity. A roughly oval cashel (int. dims. 16.2m N–S; 20m E–W) defined by a very overgrown stone bank (T 1.8–3.8m) with inner facing (H 0.6–1m) visible NW–N and at S. The foundations of a roughly rectangular stone structure (CL004-01600) occur against the interior of the S wall. The interior is relatively flat, apart from a slightly raised area in the SE sector. This cashel lies within an extensive multiperiod field system (CL004-016001-), covering an area of c. 8sq km. A cashel (CL004-016012-) and an enclosure (CL004-016010-), also within that field system, are located c. 30m to the SSE and c. 60m NNW.
